A stem cell is a long-lasting, self-producing cell which differentiates into different sort of cells. The utilization of stem cells (SCs) in different medical techniques i.e., retracting the course of pathological disease that causes baldness, restoring follicles (HFs), and producing hairs through tissue engineering. In addition to this, many favorable techniques make progress from pre- therapeutic models to therapeutically trials. The SCs that are used in hair transplants are of two types HFSCs and DPCs. Hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) are present inside the outer root sheath, in the area of the upper end of the isthmus this region is also called “bulge. HFSCs help in the reproduction of cells of the epidermis, construction of HFs and sebum glands. The other kind of SCs is present inside the HFs and it is called dermal papilla cells (DPCs),which is the starting phase of the production of HFs. DPCs have an important role in the insertion and management of the growth of hairs and the production of new HFs. SCs of adults and PCs are gathered through surgery from several tissues that include adipose tissues, the skin of the head, bone marrow tissue, and peripheral blood cells. In past, bone marrow was illustrating as a great source for SCs, because by using this source SCs are collected easily and rapidly and many types of equipment are also present that help in the collection of SCs from bone marrow. Bone marrow contains*HSCs and MCs, and many other kinds of cells that may help in enhancing the reproduction and growth of HFs. One of the basic hurdles in using SCs in surgeries was the limited quantity of material from which SCs are collected and low production as a result of the separation of SCs from the source which is approximately per mono-nuclear cell of 1 in ten thousand cells to 1 in every one lac cells. To conquer these problems and to neglect this encroaching method of bone marrow grafting that produces pain at the site of the donor other methods of collecting the homologous SCs are considered. 

Common hair restoration techniques 

Hair transplantation becomes a common method of treatment for *AGA. It includes micrografting,*FUT and*FUE, and *IFGH. Whereas the use of homologs SCs in is considered as a gold standard but its usage is restricted, because of the small quantity of material and decrease feasibility and working ability of cells. Recently, many techniques are produced which improve the efficiency of the utilization of homologous SCs of *HFs. Besides using the HFSCs which are also called bulges, the SCs that are present particularly in the HF work to renew the DPCs and sheath of *CT. These cells are also known as self-replenishing DScs. When DSCs are grafted they combine with cells of mesenchyme and then combine work with SCs of epithelium in producing new HFs. But it is a time-consuming, difficult, and less efficient method.

As it is known that the use of SCs is the most widely used technique, therefore, for maintaining the stability of tissue and recovery of any harm a large amount of SCs is required. The SCs are not dividing frequently in adult individuals and most of the cells are in the inactive stage. That’s why it is essential to comprehend the procedure of the SCs activity and their stimulation and it will also permit the therapeutic utilization of different potent cells. But there is a problem in the utilization of these cells i.e. the receptors express differently against different *GFs and the reactions of micro surroundings on cells also has variations. Furthermore, all the aim points in the technique have yet not been discovered. It needs more research with the purpose of not only the utilization of SCs and their different fragments and their constituents with drugs but also expanding the information about the physiology of HFs and physiology of cells of HFs.
